From SEPIA Magazine, May 1970
The Song Is Ended
Tammi Terrell, 24, popular Motown singing star , is dead after a series of operations for a brain tumor, although the exact cause of death hasn't been determined. She died March 16, and the funeral services were conducted March 2o.
Ms. Terrell , along with Marvin Gaye, had recorded several duets and had become well established as a night club entertainer before symptoms of the tumor appeared. The symptoms halted her career in 1967.
After five brain operations, she tried to resume her career, but was plagued with several emotional and physical breakdowns.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas H. Montgomery; a sister, Mrs. Ludie Montgomery, and an uncle, Bob Montgomery, former lightweight boxing champion.
