I listened to the first part today ((Jazzy)) and it was great! I got to hear the Temptations singing in Italian and the Supremes singing in German!! It was wonderful, I can't wait for part two :justlisten:

MOTOWN UK / Universal Music is pleased to announce a brand new 23 track compilation CD, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the MOTOWN Package tour which helped to launch the label's identity here in Britain. HITSVILLE UK: MOTOWN IN BRITAIN, is a classic collection of MOTOWNS key music icons such as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, The Supremes, The Four Tops and The Temptations to name but a few.
In addition to the fantastic new collection, world renowned music picture library, REDFERNS will host a one-off MOTOWN exhibition to further celebrate this 40th anniversary. The exhibition will run from April 6th - June 24th 2005 at Redferns Music Picture Gallery (3 Bramley Road, London W10 6SZ).
The exhibition and the new CD collection is a photographic and audio narrative of the most inspiring MOTOWN artists and captures the true essence of the world famous Detroit sound. The images and tracks chosen, chronicle the rise of MOTOWN in the US and it's massive influence on the UK music scene. Featuring key images from the legendary UK television programmes Thank Your Lucky Stars and Ready Steady Go. The special relationship between MOTOWN and its fans in the UK is fervent to this day and the exhibition and new album celebrate this unique alliance.

I forgot to mention I did tune in to the second part of the show also and it was wonderful! So many great live tracks. But it would be even more wonderful if they put all of these live performances on CD. There are just so many good things they can pluck from the vaults instead of re packaging the compilations Maybe one day I suppose :myjam:
