39 YEAR OLD SON OF MOTOWN BASSIST DEAD
Derrick Jamerson, the son of famed Motown bassist James Jamerson found dead

(MAA NEWS) - Motown bassist James Jamerson was the foundation of the Motown sound. Two of three sons followed the musical path in their different areas of music. James Jamerson Jr. is a renowned bassist in his own rights; but little known Derrick Jamerson wrote music with various techno music guru's, one such person being the father of techno Kevin Saunderson.

It was 39 year old Derrick Jamerson that was found dead in Denver, Colorado on Saturday. Derrick Jamerson was a talented "beat-maker" in the hip-hop/ techno world.

Jamerson & Saunderson stock piled music for a number of years; songs such as "Free At Last", "Human", "I Believe", "Miracle Of Life", "Pressure Of Life", "Sacrifice", and "So Deep" were all Saunderson and Jamerson compilations.

Jamerson's leaves behind his second wife Dedra Jamerson; 3 children- Derrick Jr., Jennifer, and Jordan; His mother Annie Jamerson, brothers James Jamerson Jr., Joey Jamerson, and one sister Penny Jamerson.
