Yea......any way to bring Motown to the people for another generation to enjoy !! We have Pop Idol in the UK and were very lucky that our first winner was brought up on Soul/Jazz and Motown so most of the songs he chose to sing in the heats were of those genres :toocool: Thank God for us..........he has a great soul/jazz voice , sings live 100% and has brought Motown to a lot of the kids over here who now pinch their parents music !! The 2nd Pop Idol was pants.............don't think we will get another series over here....the first winner was a one off  Cheers QS

Hi HS  The winner of our 1st Pop Idol was Will Young..............the only one of the whole bunch from the 1st and 2nd series to have sustained a career and who has gone from strength to strength in the last 3 years who just happens to sing soul and Jazz. Lemar was in Fame Academy on BBC1 the rival prog. He didn't win it, but like Will is the only one from that prog to have a career from 2 series full of folks..........again soul Both boys were brought up listening to Soul and Motown............says it all really !! :respect: Cheers QS

If anyone wants to listen to our Pop Idol Will..........here's a link.......go to the "Media Section" www.williamyoung.bizplease bear in mind that some of these songs are from the onset of his career...........he has really moved on since then....................his version of Donny Hathaways "Love you more than You'll ever know" really is to die for but you have to be a member of the site and get over so many posts to get the MP3 due to copyright. It just so happens that his guitarist Joseph Ross has a gospel background and stands in as his musical director for most of the time It was great last year when he did a spot with James Brown at a concert outdoors in London..............James thought he was a cool guy ......Praise indeed !! Cheers QS
