Yo, I was inspired by the biography discussing basically the love story of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. I wonder though it wasn't confirmed (yet speculated by one Eric Michael Dyson) that Marvin & Tammi weren't lovers, I wonder if a movie can be made around the three-year friendship/relationship between these two legends. How about it? What you think? Marvin Gaye :whirl: Tammi Terrell

The trouble would be finding some people that could sing and at least resemble Tammi and Marvin. It would be nice for Harvey to initiate something or even Valerie and Nick, work together. And with Johnny gone it would be great to use his interviews to help build the script. Wonder if Motown would turn any of those masters loose for the project :suspect: But who would play these two Will return with my thoughts

I swear Marvin & Tammi's story should be told. I ain't even gonna hear the excuse of "no one wants to watch a movie about Black love", lol. A film of this magnitude will give Marvin AND Tammi much needed cred overall not only for them being music legends but also being best friends and the like. They had a mutual love that didn't have anything to do with making love but a friendly love that helped spark up feelings and emotions. I always hear that when Tammi was with Marvin, she encouraged him to record.

A genuine example of Black love at its finest

We know exactly how Motown is with their masters, if they are not the one's doing it then forget it. But I think it would be a great idea, especially if it focused solely on their friendship and joint career ... the only thing that bothers me is that alot of people are obsessed with the 'love affair' factor and I do not want to watch something based on speculation ... if you know what I mean :sweetassugar:

I think Eric Dyson opened up a can of worms when he mentioned that he heard "from sources" that Marvin & Tammi were "more than platonic friends". Uh-huh, yeah right. He's just upset that Marvin actually had females as friends.

I would "LOVE" to see a movie about Marvin and Tammi. I have a few actors in mine who may be able to portray the dynamic duo. I doubt seriously that Motown would release the masters. Remember they wouldn`t release it with Marvin`s movie.

This is one of those thing's I have always pondered, that 'will they or won't they' feeling. I would love for it to be done but I'm not sure who would be good for casting. Any ideas?? I think Jesse L Martin could stay on board

Naw,I don`t think so. I just can`t picture Beyonce portraying Queen Tammi.Plus I think another singer/actress should have a shot at it.
