I think it's kinda odd that Tammi hasn't been fully recognized for being a soul/R&B pioneer. I mean, sure her solo career wasn't big news, but she made history when she made those beautiful duets with Marvin. I think there needs to be a petition or something to make the Hall of Fame committee recognize Tammi's talents. I mean, at least induct Marvin the second time and put Tammi in the list of inducted legends. There's acts who haven't had at least one or two hits and are labeled icons that have been inducted. Tammi scored about 15 hits, 10 of them with Marvin. So I wonder why Marvin & Tammi as a duo ain't been recognized. What's up? Y'all with me on this?

It's like people read my mind on this forum lol. I agree with you though ((timmy 84)) and if you want to start a petition I'm all for it. Her hometown have recognised she is music royalty, why not the R&R?? Also now would probably be the best time to lobby for it because Ludie is still promoting the book, it's won a prize and Tammi Terrell Day has occured recently enough

I have a few others to add to the "Motown legends that should be inducted" list. Believe it or not, I hadn't added Tammi to the list.
Thinking now, she should be included. As you say Tim, less talented or even less popular singers are in the Hall of Fame. From her work with Marvin, to her previous work as Tammi Montgomery, not to mention the recent surge in her popularity and continued support from her recent biography and day, like you said Rainy.
When I Looked over the list of inductees, I still don't understand how a lot of the artists are included.

Does anyone know the site where people start petitions so I can start? I know it's for free so help me out so we can help get Tammi in there. Plus, how many people do we need for it?

You ain't said nothing but a word ((Timmy)) Tammi's name is always going to be attached to Marvins because of what they created together, but some folks just don't recognize the real talent of yesteryear If your gonna do a petition brotha - I'm all for it And ((Jazz)) I still don't get half of their inductions either. Most of those 'singers' inducted could never hold a candle to TT at all! And I'm not just saying that because she's one of my top three female singers of all time

Tammi Is a R&B/Pop pioneer. Look what the girl accomplised in her 24 years! Tammi has never been given as a solo artist, her due. Hopefully with the book, she'll get the recognition she deserves. I would LOVE to see a complete collection of all her solo work from all the labels Tammi recorded for (Scepter/Wand/Checker/Try Me/Motown).
