Similarities b/w the Supremes and Destiny's Child

I've noticed these things about the Supremes and Destiny's Child that they're more similar than what we're led on to believe with obvious physical differences and different locations:

Simlarities
*The Supremes formed under a different name - the Primettes - in 1959.
*Destiny's Child formed under a different name - The Dolls - in 1993.

*The original lineup of the Supremes was a quartet.
*The original lineup of the group, once they became Destiny's Child, was a quartet.

*The Supremes had a Svengali in Berry Gordy.
*Destiny's Child had a Svengali in Mathew Knowles.

*Berry Gordy eventually picked Diane Ross as the one to help take the Supremes (and Motown) over the top.
*Mathew Knowles picked daughter Beyonce Knowles as the one to help take Destiny's Child over the top.

*Berry Gordy replaced Flo Ballard after what he felt that Flo's behavior was "destroying the group".
*Mathew Knowles replaced Letoya Luckett and Latavia Robinson after what he felt that their behavior towards HIM was "destroying the group".

*The Supremes became the first American female group to place a number one both in the US and UK.
*Destiny's Child became just the second girl group to accomplish this and they would have two number-one UK hits.

*The Supremes would remain a trio for a remainder of their career.
*Destiny's Child eventually remained a trio for a remainder of their career.

Differences
*Destiny's Child formed in Houston.
*The Supremes formed in Detroit.

*The Supremes were nominated for a Grammy twice but never won though three of their songs were later inducted to the Grammy Hall of Fame.

*Destiny's Child had the same lead singer for the run of the group.
*The Supremes had two more lead singers after Diane Ross left.

*Two originals from Destiny's Child remained until the group's end.
*One original was remaining when the Supremes broke up.

*Despite some bankable success with films, Beyonce hasn't found critical fame with her films.
*Diane Ross was nominated for three Golden Globes for her acting and even an Academy Award nomination.

*The Supremes are Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees.
*Destiny's Child have 15 years before they are even ELIGIBLE, lol.

Yeah you can't tell me that Destiny's Child ISN'T this generation's Supremes. Only thing is instead of Maxine Powell teaching them to dress good and act nice, everything comes from the hand of Tina Knowles.

Also hear this for something of a similarity:
*When Mathew and Tina Knowles thought of a new name for the group then known as the Dolls, Tina was reading the bible and a picture of the group dropped, she looked at the name that came from the page the picture was in and said the group would be called Destiny. A gospel group from Houston had that name so Mathew was reportedly the one who added the Child in there and they became Destiny's Child.
*Berry Gordy, who had thought the Primettes didn't sound like a "superstar" name, he had Florence pick a name from a BOOK, Flo looked through and saw the name Supreme and decided that would be the name though Mary and Diane thought the name was too masculine-sounding. Berry though decided on this and the group was named the Supremes.

Apparently both the Supremes and Destiny's Child picked out their names from books. Only difference was Beyonce's parents named Destiny's Child but Florence named her group the Supremes.

Also how's this for weird similarities: Beyonce and Flo were both light skinned and both could sing (though I personally think Beyonce's overrated, she's alright) but that's the only similarities Beyonce and Flo share, that and the both of them had lighter brown hair. Flo's was so distinctive she was nicknamed "Blondie".

But Beyonce is clearly her generation's Diana Ross while Kelly's a Mary Wilson, Letoya's a modern Flo Ballard minus illness, death and welfare (though LaTavia's story is similar to Flo's minus the death of course, lol).

Beyonce and her mother had their clothing company, House of DeWrong, I mean, DeReon while Diane study fashion design and designed all the costumes from "Mahogany".

Diane called the experience doing "The Wiz" life-opening while Beyonce said about the same doggone thing while doing "Dreamgirls".

Diane played a loosely-based version of Billie Holiday, Beyonce - according to critics and reviewers - plays a loosely-based version of Diane.

Also both Diane and Beyonce have become adapt at doing movie music. Bee's "Listen" is like her "It's My Turn".

It's absolutely bizzare about how many similarities there are between the gals!

Although, Flo did not pick the name Supremes from a book. It was from a "little, teeny piece of paper" as Flo recalls in a 1965 interview ... Which I should upload, cuz its a good interview.

But all in all, all those similarities are just too bizzarre ...

I don't think DC deserved a star on the walk of fame though, they weren't even in the business for 10 years not to mention they only made a handful of albums. I'm sure another classic R&B act could have taken that wasted spot!

Another difference: Beyonce's a pretty girl and Diane/Diana wasn't and isn't. Sure she played in Mohagany, but her boyfriend made it, and neither that nore Lady Sings the Blues was very believable. Guess it's a good thing Gordy was behind both heck all three of her first films

Diane isn't very pretty, ain't she? lol no offense, but I mean even all that makeup don't always do the trick for her.

Esp. her weight! If they say cameras add 10 pounds, well she'll need about 5 or 6 cameras to make her look decent! LOL

She's cool with makeup but without it, she looks every one of her 62 years. But it's plausible least in her case so eh...
