I was looking through some videos over on the YouTube site and found this CLIP.
It's Florence Ballard's sister and daughters speaking out about the things Diana Ross said about Florence in her book, "Secrets of a Sparrow".

Hey, yo, will you kindly post the transcript since I can't access the YouTube video right away? It's quite a bit to transcribe ((timmy)), and the user has taken it down now I will say though from the vid, Patricia was real p*ssed at Di for calling Flo an alcoholic (and naturally she should be) and Tony Turner was on there (surprise surprise :haha: ) standing up for Flo - regardless of some of the things he has come out with I liked that part

Cool beans, I'll try to check it out if the feed goes through instead of cutting it and declaring it a "full" download, lol. You know, dial-up? Thanx tho and I did catch Patricia Ballard going "I think the book is a bunch of bullsh*t!" When she said that, I was rolling. I bet Flo cussed like that when she was alive.

Yeah I know whatcha mean about dial up, I got it too but this video wasn't that long so I really didn't have to wait a long time, thank goodness Patricia had me LMAO too! I couldn't help but think 'scrait up!' at that one :haha: And maybe if Flo cussed Diane out like that from time to time she would know her place and keep her ass one way

When Flo was around, she probably prevented Diane from acting like a trick.

Flo`s daughters and her sister were very upset(especially Lisa and Nicole) that Ross said those things about Flo in her book. It`s amazing how Flo`s daughters look exactly like their mom.

"I resent her; I feel hurt, 'cause like I said, I thought better of her. And now I feel betrayed.
I think the book is a bunch of bullsh*t" --------Patricia Ballard
Of the three Supremes, no one thought Diana would become the solo star. She wasn't the best looking, she didn't even have the best voice. But she was the one with all the ambition. --------Reporter
"Diana Ross had been abusive to her by simply positioning herself further and further away. And she wanted her name out front; she wanted Florence Ballard out of the group and she got both.........Contrary to what Ms Ross said, Florence Ballard never appeared on stage drunk. She was not a drunk. As for being jealous, Florence Ballard was never jealous of anyone in her life. I think Ms Ross has chosen to remember it, as she sees fit." ---------Tony Turner
I found those comments (from the clip) very interesting and telling. I also found the comments (of posters), well some insightful, but some biased.
I was never a fan of the Supremes, but I always liked Florence Ballard. People can say what they will about lead singers getting jobs because they had the most talent; I really can't get behind that. Gordy put a lot of faith and money into that project (Diane) and he has admitted it was due to their involvement. That's why Diane got all of the backing and subsequently the Supremes. I won't say she had no talent at all, but in comparison to the others, in the Supremes and just at the label period, she fails or falters to measure up in any way- outside of determination. I can't say she was driven; driven people are overly talented or gifted, in more than their minds.
