I thought so, knowing Mr Gaye, but you know we miss things sometimes

LOL, he was basically doing some vocal melisma in that song because for a while I didn't know WHAT he was saying but I knew he was saying "I wanna do something freaky to you" (some two years before Leon Haywood may that phrase a popular hit), his concert performances of CGTT brings the lyrics out more clearly.

I won't be able to sleep peacefully in bed without you beside me, darlin', darlin', anymore No sugar, no, I won't be wrong and insecure, oh baby, like many times before Oh baby, I just might go tossin' and turnin', baby, baby, baby, all night long, hoo! Ooh Steadily if I close my eyes, when I get ready to wake up, I might find you gone, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh! For I never felt this way before I never felt so good before...That was basically the lyrics, lol!

Marvin's finest post '60s album, IMHO, I think it fits him more. Here's a track listing and this is one you can truly put on a let it go or let go 1. Let's Get It On 2. Please Stay (Once You Go Away) 3. It I Should Die Tonight 4. Keep Getting' It On 5. Come Get To This 6. Distant Lover 7. You Sure Love To Ball 8. Just To Keep You Satisfied I'm confident enough to say, this is the greatest album of Marvin's, no dis to What's Going On or I Want You, but this one gets my vote every time. What do you all think of this great album? I have to agree with you. This one is my fave post 60's album Marvin put out and is probably the most romantic album ever made If I Should Die Tonight is my favorite song on here

Let's Get It On is one of his best for lots of reasons. My favorite on here is You Sure Love To Ball.

This album truly never got its props as it should, lol. People called it a collection of "great songs" compared to WGO but it's as complete an album as WGO is, maybe better.

Besides "Satisfied" and "If I Should Die..." (and of course the still majestic title track), my favorite joint on the album has to be... Distant lover, lover Ooh, so many miles away Woo, heaven knows that I've longed for you Every night, every night, girl and sometimes I yearn through the day
Distant lover, ooh lover You should think about me Say a prayer for me Please, please babe Think about me sometime Think about me here Here in misery, misery
As I reminisce Ah baby, through our joyful summer together The promises we made on a daily letter Then all of a sudden Everything seemed to explode Now I gaze out my window Sugar, down a lonesome road
Distant lover Ooh baby, sugar How could you treat my heart so mean and cruel Didn't you know sugar that every moment that I spent with you I cherished it like it was a precious jewel Oh baby, Lord have mercy
Oh please babe Don't go Please, come back baby
Something I wanna say When you left me you took all of me with you
And girl I wonder if you would like to hear me scream and plead Please, please, ah please babe Come back home girl Oh baby, please...Eat your heart out Brian McKnight.

What do you all think of this great album? My joints on here are track 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 1- In that order, I think my iPod is wildin' I just find this album to be what this cat did best, I don't know if he was the best, but I think this was his best on, well In Our Lifetime and Midnight Love are definite contenders, but on here, he was in his prime and the collaborations with the writers and musicians is pure, unadulterated genius. You can go through your whole relationship on here! It is wild, but when I come back to Marvin, after WGO, for the rebel in me, I am totally immersed in the moods and feelings on this album. Marvin was known for going there. On WGO, it's more of a report, kinda like early Rap was, so I feel that one regardless, but on here, it's like really going through any and all human emotions. It's something else I tell you. Now all they gotta do is release the Paul Williams LP and I'll be straight for a while, well and the Atlantic LPs of Eddie. I know this probably doesn't belong here, but IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, I've got the feeling, yeah! For all the early New Jack Swingers that remember that one

Yep, if anything, Marvin's genius always showed through no matter what he did, you feel like you're on his journey when you listen to an album. Every album was like an event.
