A CD with only early takes and demos?
Yeah I know with the deluxe editions over the last few years that we've heard a lot of those but knowing how unorganized Marvin was at times there must be TONS of that kind of stuff floating around.
I remember reading in David Ritz's book that a box of recordings was sent to CBS after Marvin died. I don't know how good the material was or how much was used but it's that kinda stuff that i'd love to hear.
I know i'm kinda in the minority in that I'm very interested in hearing how Marvin took a song and made it into what eventually got released. Heck, i'd even go for a CD of demos that never amounted to anything.
Marvin's way of recording and creating an album was very unique and I think it'd be a gift to the world to hear how that process came about.

Marvin was a perfectionist so I know he did a lot of takes on certain songs in, basically, the last two decades of his career.

I wouldn't say the minority When I was younger, I used to love to listen to records for those raw sounds, sometimes you'd hear things in the background or hear the sound of the voices coming in and out. It was a treat, hearing the rawness that was left in, and now, the demos that have been released kind of rob me of that enjoyment, but I love it nonetheless

Yeah, IMHO, it shows the person's talent within the crevice of the song that when it comes together in the final product, it's a gem. That's why I adored the In Our Lifetime joint. He could've done fine wonders with "Far Cry" and "In Our Lifetime" and those songs if Motown had just allowed him to finish, lol.

I'd love to hear his early demos, when he was just getting started. The ones on the deluxe are real good but they do leave a void imo

Sometimes listening to the demo can be entertaining and then at other times not so much because it almost takes away from what that song had delivered but you admire what it took to get there. Like I was impartial to how I Want You came to life the way that it did. I loved the instrumentals on the outtake disc and that little rap Marvin delivered in the final song. Live your life/Your mama said you didn't understand/you can take the time and try to get it right... I loved that.

Not a bad idea at all ... with the time it takes for them to put out new releases they could give us the demos in between since they won't need much if any work ... just some decent CD artwork and a simple title ... hopefully Harry and the guys will do something like this, I'm in the minority that would love to hear the rare moments

I'm saying... FYE usually has Deluxe Edition issues of legendary albums, one day, I may go there and see if they still have it, lol.
