Well if you do, do any of you have the one with Marvin discussed in it? First of all, I wanted to know a few things:
1.) Why were some of the "critics" and "music notables" who were discussing Marvin didn't have their facts straight on some issues?
2.) Why did one of them say Diana Ross did "It Takes Two" with Marvin when it was really Kim Weston?
3.) Why didn't that one guy who seems to be around Marvin's age if he was still alive didn't know why Marvin added an 'e' to his last name?
---- That's at least some of the questions that bugged me, I could tell these guys the real facts of Marvin and I'm only 21 years old for peep's sakes. I knew about who Marvin duetted with and what song and what year this happened and why he changed his name and blah, blah, blah...
I mean, didn't they watch Marvin's Vh-1 documentary? LOL The answers were as easy as point blank! LOL It's just something that came up. LOL

By the way it's a DVD/CD set that has the DVD discussing Marvin's life and a CD of Marvin's '83 live tour.

Nah, it's some sort of "In Concert" kind of box set and it's titled MUSIC LEGENDS and it has a DVD discussing the lives of the music idol they cover and there's another CD that is a live collection of their performance. And that's what I'm wondering, otherwise someone miscorrectly told the woman that Diana Ross sung with Marvin in "It Takes Two". Diana would sound totally OUT OF PLACE in "It Takes Two". It truly does NOT fit her! LMAO!

LOL I don't have this, but I'd like to see it to be able to complain about it's lack of accuracy. 1- Tim, a lot of "critics" or "notables" have others get "information" for them and don't check the facts :idunno: 2- I've noticed some stars get creditted when they shouldn't. Take Two the song or the album? I haven't listened to the album in some time, maybe there is a song on there she could have sang But as for the song It Takes Two, no how, NO WAY! Tim, you're right when you say that song is not suited for her. There'd have to be some serious re-arranging to make that work for her. Personally, I don't think it could be done. That is ALL Kim Weston! 3- That is just a shame, who doesn't know that :whoknows:  at them not watching the Behind the Music It's upsetting that this could be sold as a documentary and considered as part of his legacy

LOL! It was actually a LEGENDS documentary.
1.) On Pop-Up Video and on other outlets, they TELL you how Marvin added the 'e' to his name. 2.) It was to escape his father's wrath and image 3.) It was to make him self-dependent and away from his dad 4.) It'll stop people thinking he was, well, you know?
But if they didn't know, good lawd, then what were they doing there?! LMAO!

LOL I've seen it so many times where these 'critics' don't know a doggone thing about half the Legends they talk about. Us younger fans could definitely school them ;D

Please don't even get me started on them mistaking Kim for Diane ((Timmy)) do you know if the person who said that was tone deaf  I don't even know... who knows? She probably was. And (((Melody))) I think they might've been like that because of rumors they heard about Marvin's dad being a crossdresser and all and them knowing about it. You know how insenstive kids can be and we know how much of a shy and sensitive person Marvin was. Back to the one who thought it was Diane, well this is what she said (YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE THIS): "Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye worked well together when they did 'It Takes Two', he also worked with Kim Weston on several tracks up until 1967..." Let it be clear to that Missy that DIANE was still in the Supremes and Kim Weston was a Motown artist between, I think, 1964 to 1967. The only thing Diane did with Marvin was that duet album in 1973 but they sure didn't discuss that because they were trying to get the "duos" side of the story out of the way. One other person had the year wrong: this other woman said Tammi collapsed on Marvin in '68 when it was '67 and she died in 1970. And how do we know when Marvin began to get depressed since they said he was depressed starting after Tammi collapsed but as with most bios of Marvin, they make it seem like Tammi died in 1967 and not 1970 thought they put the years there. Confusing, ain't it?!

1.) Why were some of the "critics" and "music notables" who were discussing Marvin didn't have their facts straight on some issues? You know what I've notice, and this is not directed at anyone in particular, but when people live during a certain time or during the career of an artist, they think they don't have to do research and just go on what was known at the time. And think they know it ALL!2.) Why did one of them say Diana Ross did "It Takes Two" with Marvin when it was really Kim Weston? Not even in her best dream could she handle that one and would never sound anywhere near as good.3.) Why didn't that one guy who seems to be around Marvin's age if he was still alive didn't know why Marvin added an 'e' to his last name? Maybe he was senile or something.---- That's at least some of the questions that bugged me, I could tell these guys the real facts of Marvin and I'm only 21 years old for peep's sakes. I knew about who Marvin duetted with and what song and what year this happened and why he changed his name and blah, blah, blah... I mean, didn't they watch Marvin's Vh-1 documentary? LOL The answers were as easy as point blank! LOL It's just something that came up. LOL That was one of the better BHTM, Marvin's. And it did tell you all you needed to get started on Marvin.
I guess they missed it ((Timmy))
