Motown's 50th Anniversary Celebration in the Works?
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that 'plans for plans' have been a buzz in the Motor City for the upcoming 50th Anniversary for Motown Records. While no plans have been confirmed, there are apparent signs in the city that something is brewing. Clues include: discussions have been held between Motown founder Berry Gordy, Universal Music Group and the Motown Historical Museum and The Motown Museum is amid a 3 week renovation and has scaled back its annual autumn fundraiser in possible preparartion for the upcoming celebration. Hmmmm?
The Detroit Free Press also stated that Duke Fakir of the Four Tops said some Motown artists have been alerted to reserve January 12, 2009 for appearance on national news programs. 'Nobody knows what's going to happen. Berry is the key. Everyone is waiting for the word from him. Whatever it's going to be, we're really excited,' added Fakir.

Screw Berry being the key! I say they do the do and send him an invite! lol There is going to be a big concert over here though in June 09 as the remaining Legends are coming to Wembley Arena to celebrate the big 5-0. It's only right that Detroit does something - that goes without saying
