Since you're here, please introduce yourself: What's your name? Joerg Where're you from? Cologne, Germany Birthdate (Month and Day) or age: January 14, 46 years Why I love Motown: The rhythm, the sound, the (hi)story, the music, not always the lyrics - James Jamerson, Jack Ashford, all other Funk Brothers - in short - I'm a huge fan !!! If I can recall, the first time I heard a Motown song... Motown was the first music I heard consciously, I must have been around 13 at that time. I even remember the first songs: Ball of Confusion, I'm still waiting, Abraham, Martin and John, Sinner Man (Can't find this one as an mp3 - shoot), Way back home (Instrumental version) etc. etc. I almost instantly fell in love with that sound. Everytime I hear that Motown Sound: I start to listen and my mood goes up ! Favorite Motown Artists: Marvin Gaye, Temps, Four Tops, Supremes, Gladys Knight & Pips, Martha Favorite Motown Songs: What' going on, Ain't too proud to beg, What becomes of the brokenhearted and the ones mentioned above. Please post in a new thread Dear Motown lovers, I directly start with a question - having read the book over James Jamerson and the one written by Jack Ashford (Motown-a view from the bottom) I am very much interest to learn which musician played on which Motown song. Is there a list or some other source of information ? Thanks a lot in advance Breedi

Thank you for the warm welcome. Vintage is not too bad - will use this instead. I have seen the "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" documentary approximately five times and still discover new things. But there I cannot find answers to questions such as : Was it James Jamerson or Bob Babbitt palying bass on Edwin Starr's "Time" ? Anybody any idea ? As I am thinking about going to Detroit once in a while - is there a "Motown" Tour, apart from the obvious 2648 West Grand Boulevard ? Thanks again Breedi
