The first of many battles to listen, review, and compare.
Looking for perspectives from the Motown Forever Family, not, what was it, 'sandwich or 45' reviews, just what you get from both and possibly which you prefer. There will be pros and cons; just try and please be constructive more than insulting, if you can
Isley Brothers "Seek and You Shall Find" from This Old Heart of Mine (1966)
VS
Marvin Gaye "Seek and You Shall Find" from MPG (1969)
Let us know what you think

I would say the Isleys version has a doo-wopish sort of feel to it ...while Marvins is a little more soulful especially because of how the Andantes are carrying the background ... both versions sound real good to me but I'm gonna have to go with the Isleys on this one

Let us know what you think I have never actually heard the Isley Brothers version until now so it will have to grow on me. I have had the MPG album for years and this was always one of my favorite tracks, so I am going to vote for Marvin here

I like both versions. The Isley Brothers` background vocals sounded very good. Both versions are unique.

I like Marvin's better Like someone stated Mavin`s version was more soulful and he sounded better on the lead vocals. I didn`t care to much for the background vocals on his version.

I'm still trying to decide While the Isleys' version is more a funky take on the tune, I think Marvin's version is more soulful I just don't know
