From EURWEB (June 15, 2006) EUR has learned that Freddie Gorman, a bass singer/songwriter who penned “Please, Mr. Postman” for the Marvelettes and was a member of the group The Originals, died Tuesday afternoon at the age of 67. A cause of death was not given. The Originals, also featuring Tyrone Hunter, C.P. Spencer, Hank Dixon and Walter Gaines, spent several years as a second-tier act on Motown before the release of their biggest hits “Baby I'm For Real,” “The Bells,” (both written by Marvin Gaye) and “Down to Love Town” in the early 70s. Gorman is survived by his wife Doddie and son Dillon. LINK
