On Saturday, May 13th as a special Mother's Day Celebration Benefit Event, the Motown sound will hit the Windy City as V. Homes: A Tribute to the Motown Greats hit the stage to perform the hits of Motown. Performances of this very special evening of Motown music are scheduled at the Illinois Institute of Technology (3241 S. Federal - Chicago) in the Herman Hall Theatre starting at 7: 00p.m.
Hosted by MeBain Media Group Productions, this tribute is a musical portraying the sounds of young America through the music of Motown in the 60's and 70's. These classic numbers salute the musicians and artists that made Motown, the icon it is in the business world today. With singing, dancing and fabulous costumes, the performers and music will take your breath away as you return to a time when rhythm and blues rocked the house and had you dancing in the streets!
For this very special Mother's Day weekend engagement the concert production will blow audience members away with its high energy performances. This highly anticipated event was named one of the best tribute concerts in the country for its live music and singing and storytelling of the rich history of Motown .
The tribute concert event will feature the music of artists like the Temptations, Mary Wells, Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Martha and the Vandellas, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross and the Supremes. These were just some of the songs that had people dancing all over the world.
The Director and Creator of V. Holmes: "A Tribute to the Motown Greats" is singer, songwriter and director Vanessa Holmes. Blessed with musical education, years of experience and strong talent for writing, has made this musical piece full of exciting music. Vanessa is known for her phenomenal 5 ½ octive range.
The tribute concert will pay tribute to single moms and stay at home dads, who work diligently to provide a quality life for their children. The tribute concert will also raise money to benefit South Haven Pregnancy Center in the South Shore area. The South Haven Pregnancy Center provides free services for teenage mothers who can not afford these services while pregnant. Tribute to the Motown Greats will be hosted by WGCI's morning host, Tony Sculfield.
