Well known songwriter and record producer, Frank E. Wilson is the leader of national and international ministries, an author, a leading producer of gospel music, and now an ordained minister and pastor with a Doctorate of Divinity. Frank is married to author and speaker Bunny Wilson. Together they conduct “The Master’s Degree” marriage/family seminars across the nation and have co-authored a book of the same title.
Wilson’s recordings have sold over 40 million copies and have earned several Grammy nominations. During his 10-year stint as a leading Motown producer, both Record World and Cash Box voted him Producer of the Year. Among his hit songs are You’ve Made Me So Very Happy, I’m Gonna Make You Love Me, and Love Child. Wilson has worked with Motown greats including Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Diana Ross, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo. In 1995, he received a Grammy nomination for producing the album Motown Comes Home, and was presented the McDonald’s Gospelfest Gold Circle Award and the Sammy Davis Jr. Award of The People’s Workshop.
Wilson left Motown in 1976 after a personal spiritual encounter. He formed an independent production company and Fellowship West Inc., an umbrella organization for several Christian ministries including the Christian Entertainers Fellowship, Dayspring Singles and Marrieds Christian Growth Conference and Mini Vacation, Breakaway Youth Ministries and the McClaney Gospel Song Fest. Wilson is a board member of Bibles for the World; a founding board member of Destiny, an Atlanta-based domestic and international missions organization; and the executive director of Harambee ‘90, a national pastors conference on inner-city problems. He also helped organize the Black American Response to the African Community (BARAC), and served as its president for seven years. BARAC's mission is to raise funds to send food and emergency supplies to victims of Africa’s prolonged droughts and famines.
In his new book, Unmasking the Lone Rangers, Wilson draws from his longtime adventure of leading men’s fellowship groups where brothers in Christ learned how being transparent and walking together had such an incredible impact on their lives. Wilson’s stories and ideas will help men learn to pray for, be accountable to, and spiritually support other men. He also conducts seminars under the same title.
An accomplished public speaker and popular media guest, Wilson has been a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show, 60 Minutes, the ABC-TV special The Desert’s Edge, Two on the Town, The PTL Club, TBN, CBN, and many other broadcast programs. He has been the subject of numerous newspaper and magazine articles.
