By the time the 70's rolled around Holland-Dozier-Holland had left and the Funk Brothers were soon to be gone. The Motown Sound as we knew it had changed as the artists started exploring their own creativity and took the time to work with a bigger range of producers and songwriters. Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Eddie Kendricks and The Commodors all contributed to the newer Motown sound of the 70's and undoubtedly left us with even more great music to enjoy for many years to come.
It was during this period, that they continued to pave the way for acts like Rick James, DeBarge and Teena Marie, who would also go on to keep Motown doors open for the likes of Boys 2 Men 702, Brain McKnight and India Arieā¦Here we show our appreciation for the work left behind after the Classic era so feel free to discuss your favorite songs or artists right here....
