The Tammi Terrell Biopic Project is in development...
How it all came about....
While Ludie had written her memoirs of Tammi in what we began referring to as "the diary," the diary was the blue print for Tammi's story. Ludie and I progressed very nicely as a writing team to add more to it and make it a deeper more spiritual piece of work which became the book. Our friendship developed into a good partnership and it was all about Tammi for both of us. I began pitching the idea of a Tammi movie to some of my industry colleagues, one particular person I really respected asked me to keep her posted with our progress. Once I had a good idea of how the story was going to be told and how we were unfolding with the interviews, I gave my friend a synopsis of the script and I made a photo presentation to go along with it. My friend passed on the info to a major talent who I believe could portray Tammi....so I thought why not seek to go in that door...so we did, and it opened. We were asked by a major talent's agent to develope the script. I immediately called my friend Sylvia Jahshan who was mentored under Jim Cash and over a one year period, (the same year Ludie and I were writing Tammi) Sylvia and I wrote the script and Ludie helped us to develope it. It was a magical time when Sylvia and I flew to Philly shortly before the book's release and did a script table read with Ludie. By the time the book was out, Hollywood was knocking for us and our script has since been optioned twice and once by Mr. Paul Justman who made some great progress for the project. Tammi is making her way, baby steps. Our doors to get this film funded and completed continue to open, it's just a matter of time. Tammi Terrell's life story has brought many gifts to my life and to the lives of so many others. I will always be a soldier and fight to help get her story out even more than the book did. I promised Ludie I would do it right. I promised Tammi I would give my 100%. Sylvia did a magnificent job with the characters and story lines in the script and the emotional aspect of Tammi's life blended so beautifully with the music. Ludie and I both have encountered a few unscrupulous people as we worked on this project. There are pirates in this town and you have to be careful. We have come a long way and continue to grow closer to a finished product. The three of us are pressing forward to make it happen. We will keep you posted as we go....... Vickie And Friends

Was poking around on Vickie's site (thanks to ((Playgirl)) ) ...and I'm happy about this...mainly because Vickie really seems to know what she is doing...not only did she take her time with the book but she's also taking her time with this, which is a good sign IMO ...Just curious as to who the 'major talent' is hmmm...

Quick who do you think, I hope it AIN'T who I fear! Maybe somebody cute like the little girl, whoops, young lady from One on One or somebody else cute, that actually can act, please do us that justice, Tammi deserves that, and more, but at least that

You two are making me laugh ...but I have to admit the thought of Beyonce did run through my mind...I am hoping it is somebody else for the mere fact Tammi needs to be truly represented...

Yeah that's what I meant and yes I hope they found someone who's actually worth it, you know?

Yeah I know...again the best thing may be to go with an unknown...whoever is going to play Tammi does have to have a certain edge but also that vulnerabilty factor...she was sassy but I think that several of these 'major talents' are just too oversexed and won't be able to do her any justice ...

Vickie And Friends Kudos to Vickie because this one has been a long time coming (no pun intended lol) But I am inclined to agree with everybody thus far in saying I too hope it is not Beyonce Knowles. Also, I wouldn't say it is really vulnerability, but more of an innocence that Tammi evoked. I do hope that whoever plays her does possess a similar type of class and sophistication about them to give a believeable performance, because although she did not live long it will not be an easy task to commemorate her legacy through film. Alot of people have got it wrong before!

I'm drawing a blank, because I can't think of anyone now. I think Aaliyah could have done a good job had she not suffered the same tragic fate (early death) as Tammi. Maybe one of the Mowry twins, I think that's how you spell it. They, well Aaliyah didn't either, don't sound like Tammi, but they can act and have voices. I'm sure with some training or crafty direction it could work.
