I really enjoyed this one!
Not all of the artists, but most...
Gladys, R. and Usher sent in some beautiful love through video!
Brian McKnight was ok on "I Second That Emotion."
Boyz II Men: Shop Around stank, but More Love was phenomenal. Nate can blow can't he!
Gerald Levert; when I watched last night; I had to say 'whatever'. But I pulled out the tape and he did Smokey and the Miracles well! "Ooh, Baby Baby", "You've Really Got A Hold On Me" and the duet with Marsha Ambrosius(sp) from Floetry was superb : "Ebony Eyes".
Floetry; these women can duet it all; both true artists. Nat with the spoken word and Marsh, she sang her heart out on "Who's Loving You".
India Arie; love her. She put a whole new spin on "Tracks Of My Tears".
Rick Fante; I tried to give him more chances, but just not feeling the voice and I love that song. He was terrible on "Baby, Baby, Don't Cry".
Christina Milian did well covering Mary Wells' "My Guy".
New Edition; what can I say. The truly are the Tempts for Gen Xers. They did wonderfully; with the lyrics and had most of the routines down! I just don't care for Johnny Gill trying to sing in tenor, especially not "Get Ready". He was straining on that one, but they all looked good enough to eat. So I'll let this slide, this time. Ricky is still the man, he and they did well with "The Way You Do The Things You Do". Now Ralph, he sounded great doing the first verse of "My Girl", they should've let him finish it up or brought Ricky back, Johnny just ain't cut it. Mike and Ronnie were doing their things too!
John Legend a new cat from the Hip Hop arena that can really blow, his rendition and performance of "Quiet Storm" was wonderful!
Stevie brought new meaning with his rendition of "Tears Of A Clown"; he is truly a legend!

And last but not least, Smokey still sounds great! He was humble and thankful and got a kick out of the tribute. Then he got up and did a medley of his hits ("Just To See Her", "Being With You", etc) and called some of the acts back out to end with "Going To A Go Go"! This is one of the tributes I truly enjoyed.
If you missed it I'm sure BET will be rerunning, they're famous for it. And this is one you don't want to miss![/b][/left]
