You're right, Rainy, I wouldn't be surprised. Rebellious people live shorter lives especially when that life was such a pain as Marvin's was.

((Rainy)) I never even thought about it that way but I see what you are saying...for example we all know that when times were good during that early to mid 70's spell he took the time to be entertaining certain 'friends' and entourage members who didn't have his best interest at heart ...but when times got bad and he ended up running away from his problems...then lo and behold none of them were to be found...easily influenced and indifferent attitude toward responsibilty right there...go on withcha bad self ((Rainy))... and ((Quick)) you're right too because him being as rebellious as he was didn't help anything at all...

David Ritz said that his life began and ended violently. I agree with this, he also said the only way Marvin battled his demons and the people that he wanted to get rid of was through combat: his father, his record label, fake friends, his wives, etc. When you live like that, it's hard to see the light after the darkness.

IMO of everything Ritz has ever said on Marv ...that is the only thing I would say he got right... I feel ya(((Together))),cause I find it hard to believe that Marvin would share some very personal things with Ritz.

Well if you read Frankie's book ((Quick)) you'll find out that Ritz isn't all he's cracked up to be...two main things that Frankie corrected were the rumours of Gaye Sr allegedly being a cross dresser ..something that Ritz single handedly re fired up ...and a dispute over the writing credits on Sexual Healing...I recommend Frankie's book for anyone who doesn't want to read a hyper active version of events

I viewed a documentary on Marvin and his keyboardist Odell Brown (the guy who co-wrote "Sexual Healing" with Marvin) and when someone mentioned David to Odell he said "I don't know of the guy, I never heard of David Ritz or what he did." So Marvin, Sr. wasn't a cross-dresser? And Marvin truly wrote the lyrics to "Sexual Healing" by HIMSELF? Then David ain't ish then, lol.
