Blame me for being so late on the Motown divas but I just started hearing this fine song cut in 1962 by Ms. Wells and honestly, it amazes me how someone so young (18) could sing something that nowadays be deemed a very mature record compare to the crap out now. This teenage songbird singing her heart out on this doo-wop stomper, this song proves she was as soulful a vocalist as her Motown counterparts such as Brenda Holloway, Florence Ballard, Martha Reeves and Gladys Knight and as her outside label rivals like Aretha and Dionne. Great song, Ms. Wells!
