Ready For Love by the Temptations. Don't get me wrong, I understand what they were doing at that phase but I just cannot listen to it. Martha and the Vandella's will always own that one It didn't belong on In a Mellow Mood. It sounds like the same melody as the Martha & the Vandella's version. Never cared too much for either

Overall the Vandella's version is the better one though :getyagrooveon:

Blue Skies by J-5. The music sounds weird.

Some interesting picks up in here ... ((Fanta)) and ((Motowner)) just picked two cuts that have always been on the very bottom of my list too

Something about "Hallelujah Day" by the J5 turned me off for some reason. That's why the Jacksons did more funky material before they left. Serves Motown (the label) right.

He Holds His Own by the Supremes. Mary Wells version is much more superior

1 - You Keep Me Hanging On - I like Kim Wilde's better 2 - I Hear A Symphony - Too much of the same tune 3 - Where Did Our Love Go - Like it, but its a bit overrated 4 - Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing - Just don't like it - lol

You don't like Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing? And Kim Wilde's version of "You Keep Me Hangin' On' bloooooows... And "I Hear a Symphony" is one of the best Supremes songs they ever did. :justlisten: I hated "The Happening" tho.

Never heard Kim Wilde Symphony is my favorite #1 of the Supremes' though and I think I'm starting to prefer the alternate take on Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing over the original but I don't hate it lol While I'm in the thread let me throw It's The Same Old Song, I Guess I'll Always Love You and I'll Turn To Stone by the Supremes onto the fire heap

She (Kim Wilde) was this British one-hit wonder who made a hit off that Supremes song in America and was never heard from again. I would've hated "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" if the Supremes had just done it, lol. The Temptations and Eddie Kendricks was its saving grace. A song I could NEVER get into, for some odd reason, was Rare Earth's versions of "Get Ready" and "(I Know) I'm Losing You".
