LOL!!! The Supremes shouldn't have covered ANYTHING IMHO. Sorry to say......................................... Seven Rooms of Gloom by the Fabulous Four Tops The music, although it matches thetheme of the song, is just horrid, horrific and just plain horrible

You've Really Got a Hold on Me by the Miracles ... This is one of the Miracles songs where I really can't take the whine of Smokey Robinson. I do love the Tempts' version, so, whoever wrote the song, it still works

I also don't like that song now. Smokey sounds so nasally and whiny on that track... ***shudders*** actually Smokey's voice was always annoying to me like Diane's voice.

Yep ((Quick))
I see the Miracles and Supremes in such a similar light, nasal, and for me, annoying lead/fronts and ignoring the amazing voices of some in the background.
Can I throw on, The Love I Saw in You Was Just a Mirage? The whine is what gets me, and it sounds like the music was echoing it.

I feel ya on that one. Might I add these three songs that I definitely hate.... Love Hangover Theme From Mahogany The Boss

Where Did Our Love Go
Sounds like incessant whining and all the baby, baby's ... Very excessive ... Does the song even have a melody ... Anyways, I don't like it, at all ...

Yeah, no wonder the Marvelettes turned it down. :teehee: Berry's payola did a lot to make that song a hit.

No pleasing some folk ((Funksis)) I don't hate Seven Rooms of Gloom, but it reminds me of Marvin's Grapevine along with the Supremes Reflections and My World. They each have a slightly eery vibe about them

I don't know if it is the song or the singer. I like some of the Supremes stuff but remember the song wasn't intended for them hence the whiney-ness. I just wish that Gladys and the girls cut it because I hear her doing a wonderful job. That voice was one heck of an instrument :myjam:

Ready For Love by the Temptations. Don't get me wrong, I understand what they were doing at that phase but I just cannot listen to it. Martha and the Vandella's will always own that one
