I don't know about that, Funk, it's like he gave himself too much credit for founding Motown. All he did was hold Jobete and he left his presidential job in 1972 after he had moved the entire corporation to Los Angeles from Detroit. So I don't know... I mean, Motown didn't actually start with the name Berry Gordy IMHO. So I dunno... but since Smokey's there, might as well have the lap dog be happy his master's getting 'credits'. He did, Quick. He added his name on songs, I think, and even took credit for the work of other execs. I was just observing that since his name is there, it looks like he did something and so much. When he, more than likely, did not. You know how 'critics' choose what they want to believe. He slapped his name on, a lifetime ago- So he gets a lifetime award :whoknows:

Anyway, Gordy better be lucky Marvin or somebody didn't just come out and tell their sides of the story. Even though many of the artists didn't come out and give full autobiographies they gave us enough to know how much of a snake he is :frustration:

True that, Kay, and I see what you're saying, Funk, I agree that he put his name on stuff OTHER people did because he wanted it to be known that he was a "songwriter" knowing good doggone well other people wrote the songs that he didn't even write. Anyway, it's shady the way he did it. :frustration:
